Mono turntables could now play stereo LPs, so mono as an LP format
began to be phased out. Consequently, mono copies of 'Pisces',
while not rare, are harder to find.

The copyright changed from "Radio Corporation America"
to "Colgems Records, Inc." About these changes.

Hype Sticker

I've only seen this sticker on 3-4 copies,
as most people would obviously not keep the record in the shrink wrap.
But still, I have several sealed copies of this record that don't have this,
so this may have been added by a regional distributer.

Type 3 & 2 Label

Although this last one is clearly stamped Indianapolis in the dead wax
the press rings are 37mm and are not like anything else I've seen before.

This may be a contract pressing, but it doesn't seem to fit
any known manufacturer from that time.

===============================

Due to the extremely high demand for the Monkees records
RCA subcontracted with other pressing plants.

MGM PRESSING PLANT
BLOOMFIELD, NJ

Stereo

Type 2 Label

MGM used a block "S" in the dead wax; though some copies are
missing this and just have the "R" for Rockaway.

MGM used the metal stampers from the nearby Rockaway plant.

The pressing rings are 32mm wide.

A real twist: an older & newer label on one album!

Type 3 & 1 Labels

The "TV" etched in the runout groove signifies that stampers were from
the Tracy-Val Corporation.

The pressing rings are 32 & 70mm.
