Arista Cassettes
The Monkees Greatest Hits

Even though the cassettes are dated 1972, they are from 1976 or later.
The earlier date is the original Bell Records release.

Starting with Arista's 8000 series, their catalog number prefixes
were used to denote the list price. For example, AC5 = $5.98
So when they changed the price they had to also
change the catalog number.

Clear Cassette

Clear tapes began to be a thing in May of 1985 with the Dire Straits release
Brothers In Arms. Soon other record companies, including Arista, followed suit.

In July 1986 (Billboard 7.12.86) Arista stopped shipping this
to instead promote "Then & Now...The Best Of The Monkees"
which was released the following week.

So this clear shell version represents the end of the press run for this title.
