Colgems 1970 Reissues

Was Colgems seriously considering reissuing
the Monkees’ catalog in late 1969/early 1970?

Part 4 The Monkees Greatest Hits

Now going back to my original question, was the label considering a re-release of the Monkees catalog later on down the road?  Because RCA re-released The Monkees Greatest Hits with an entirely different cover,
both back and front, but only in Canada.  This pressing is extremely rare and is sought out by all Monkee fans and collectors.

Since this was a Canadian only release, the theory among collectors has always been that it was designed by RCA Canada.  However, a rear cover slick for the Greatest Hits album recently surfaced and contradicts that theory, clearly establishing that the design was created by Colgems. This slick has the Colgems logo on it and in the bottom left hand corner an “RE”, just like the Canadian version.  So were they considering re-releasing this album on the Colgems label in the States with this brand new layout?
